MaxBounty will be re-allocating its catered lunch budget to assist the local community through the Ottawa Food Bank.
As you may have seen on our social media, our company-wide, catered lunches have become a Friday tradition in the MaxBounty office. Their objective: to bring our entire team together at the end of the week while supporting local businesses. It’s essentially our family dinner.
Unfortunately, but understandably, these gatherings have been put on hold while we’ve shifted to remote operations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
However, rather than suspend these meals indefinitely, we want others to benefit from their objective.
The philosophy of supporting our local community will remain, but we’re altering what that support looks like during this unprecedented time.
To start, we’ve donated our budget for a month’s worth of weekly team meals.
It is our intention that this donation will now help provide lunches for others, especially those who may be negatively affected by the economic impact of the ongoing pandemic.
We chose the Ottawa Food Bank because they provide food for over 112 agencies in the city including large downtown shelters, small community food banks, multi-service centres and school meal programs. They’re also dealing with a higher demand for food at this moment.

If you’re not in a position to donate money currently, we recommend you still find ways to help others at this time. Drive a neighbour to the pharmacy or grocery store if possible or donate blood to assist health professionals who still need to treat non-COVID-19 patients.
Keep practicing social distancing and remain patient while we attempt to flatten the curve.
