Making your OWN product.

I have marketed other people’s products for years as an affiliate. I speak at events for Search Engine Workshops, webinars and mentor affiliate marketers. The one thing everyone always asks me is “Do you have a product of your own?- we would love to promote it”. The fact is I really don’t have my own product but I have several IDEAS for one.

The one thing everyone always asks me is “Do you have a product of your own?- we would love to promote it”. The fact is I really don’t have my own product but I have several IDEAS for one.

Over the past few weeks I have been watching with interest the buzz about Launch Tree – a Instant Product Development Virtual Workshop. Timing is everything!

I already subscribe to PPC Classroom, which is another Lurn product. I was impressed with the strength and amount of real information on PPC campaigns I could put into practical and profitable use right away. Once I got into the Launch Tree I noticed some of the content is very basic- perfect for newbies. Some experienced marketers think the basic stuff is below them. I beg to differ. A solid training foundation is critical. Take the time to read the basic information, you will lean something new even if you have 17 years in online/affiliate marketing experience like I do.

As I looked through the advanced modules in the workshop the information was much more interesting and meaty, which is what I expect from Anik Singal and Mike Filsaime. I like to go through and take the tests first.( yes there are tests) It is always humbling and fun to see that “You don’t know what you DON’T know”.

An investment of $77 to learn how to do what I have always wanted to do for myself is a no brainer. I have signed up for Launch Tree and would recommend the Instant Product Development Virtual Workshop to you even if developing your own product is not your goal. The workshop will give you a totally new insight on some of the products you are already promoting. I know it has for me.

Interest-Based Advertising

Got this from Google AdSense today. Start checking those privacy policies!  This raises another question how much privacy do you as a user expect to have ?

Hi,

We’re writing to let you know about the upcoming launch of interest-based advertising, which will require you to review and make any necessary changes to your site’s privacy policies. You’ll also see some new options on your Account Settings page.

Interest-based advertising will allow advertisers to show ads based on a user’s previous interactions with them, such as visits to advertiser website and also to reach users based on their interests (e.g. “sports enthusiast”). To develop interest categories, we will recognize the types of web pages users visit throughout the Google content network. As an example, if they visit a number of sports pages, we will add them to the “sports enthusiast” interest category. To learn more about your associated account settings, please visit the AdSense Help Center at http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=20310.

As a result of this announcement, your privacy policy will now need to reflect the use of interest-based advertising. Please review the information at https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=100557 to ensure that your site’s privacy policies are up-to-date, and make any necessary changes by April 8, 2009. Because publisher sites and laws vary across countries, we’re unfortunately unable to suggest specific privacy policy language.

For more information about interest-based advertising, you can also visit the Inside AdSense Blog at http://adsense.blogspot.com/2009/03/driving-monetization-with-ads-that.html.

We appreciate your participation and look forward to this upcoming enhancement.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team
